Awa Tsireh

Awa Tsireh was a San Ildefonso Pueblo painter and metal worker. 

His graphic, abstract-styled paintings made using watercolor and ink depict different ceremonies and traditions of many different Indigenous tribes. Though few of his artworks sold in his lifetime, his work inspired many others in his community to paint.
